Hi everyone.. newbie here. Feeling fragile since the first blip I've had with my daughter. She's 2 years old and small for her age- 10kg.
Went to attend a small family get together in another city with my sister. Around 5 of us women and an uncle in the living room and a few little ones playing. My DD has been climbing tables and chairs recently and I'm constantly hovering over her and obviously telling her to stop. This time she loses her balance and although I'm right beside her, even had my hand on her, didn't manage to stop her landing on hard floor, head first. She cried for 15-20 seconds, stopped for 5 seconds.. thought she passed out but then took a gasp and carried on crying. Was very distressed and although did stop crying.. every 5 minutes would start again. Became tired.. perked up again. Half an hour later was sick. She had never been sick (I know! literally once or twice in early days, I put this down to breastfeeding personally). At this point all of us agreed to get her an ambulance to the hospital. Journey in the ambulance was horrendous, pictured having to get brain surgery and worst. However, she was seen promptly, assessed and discharged with further monitoring advice. Nurse practitioner said she is abdolutely fine and would only be concerned if the vomiting was persistent. Its been 2 days and no more sickness. She seems absolutely back to normal but I've to bear in mind she could still have headaches and be irritable. The nurse practitioner who saw her was great and with loads of experience, was happy to discharge her quite soon aswell.
Reason I'm posting is because I'm still terrified I've caused her some kind of head or brain damage that just hasn't been picked up. What if there is long term effects of this? And why did she vomit that one time? Im so thankful they have said shes fine but i just feel so shaken up by this. All the family felt the same horrible way after this. Like I say she is speaking, eating and playing as if the whole thing didn't happen, although I'm still feeling highly anxious and on edge. I was a complete wreck when she fell. Couldn't believe it happened right in front of me. I'm usually so careful. I even keep a floor bed for her just because of my paranoia of her falling. My nightmare came true 😢

If she's been checked out and seems fine now don't stress
