Hey guys was looking for info / opinions on the

Tommee Tippee Ultra UV 3-in-1 Steriliser for Baby Bottles”

I was interested in getting this this time as I didn’t like how the steam steriliser left the bottles wet still.
but I have read that the bottles have to be clear?? I’ve bought the mam active bottles and they are blue plastic (the actual bottle part ) is this not compatible?

thank you

I bought a UV Steriliser, only to find that everything said 'not suitable for UV sterilisation'. Massive waste of money.

I used the tommee tippee steriliser (not sure if it’s the model you mentioned though) but did have clear bottles. You could use it for coloured bottles but you put it in a different setting that takes longer

There's an old episode of Sliced Bread on radio 4 about UV sterilisers and (unless the technology's improved in the last year) they don't work well on complex shapes like baby's bottles.
The UV rays need to be emited 360° in the chamber but they only work at a 90° angle, so are fine on a boxy shaped object like a mobile phone but can't deal with all the curved shapes and nooks & cranies on a bottle.
Steam or Milton sterilisers work much better than UV.

I used a steam steriliser and 5litre jugs of distilled water so I didn't need to descale it as often (very hard water area).
