Does anyone else hate going out because of how long it takes to get ready?😥 takes about 2 hours for me to get the children ready and get them out the door. This makes me dread going out. Anyone else hate how long it all takes? Or is it just me? Tried to be quicker but still takes forever

I find it easy normally because it's routine, we're normally out of the house by 8:30 at the latest 7 days a week.

If for whatever reason, we're staying in and going out later.... then it becomes hell when it's actually time to leave.

Yes it is a pain how long it takes to get out but I find it worse being stuck in the house with my tornado 2 year old DD so i push through! We have to do the school run every day for my 6 year old DD so that helps as we have to get up and out early. I find it harder at weekends trying to get out later when there is less routine as PP said. Is there any particular aspect that you find the worst? Sounds like you possibly have 2 toddlers or similar and that is hard once you've wrestled the second one into their coat and shoes the other has taken them off! It does get easier as they get older in that sense though!

Depends on the age. It does get better. It was a pain getting a dopey young toddler out the door who'd have a poo in their pull ups right before you left, or soak their top or some such.

Now, at 3, it's a breeze. He's dressed and teeth brushed as soon as he's up and can be trusted to eat breakfast without making an almighty mess. Then he just potters about playing until it's time to head out. Puts his own wellies on, can go to the toilet and wash his hands himself. It's so much better now. Being able to chat and reason with them helps so much.

@Strawbzz

No wonder it takes so long. You've got your hands full, it's a logistical nightmare! I'd just try and streamline as much as possible. Super easy breakfasts on days you need to get out the door, even if that means granola bars and pouch yoghurts or a peanut butter sandwich on the go. Clothes ready laid out maybe. All showers/baths the night before so never in the morning.
