How much time do your LOs spend indoors at a time?

I am feeling under immense pressure (from myself I hasten to add!), to spend the majority of the time outside with DD or at the very least actively playing with her. She is dreadful at amusing herself - am I actually making this problem worse? She's 16 months.

My d is 15m and If I didn't get out the house with her twice a day then I think I'd go mad!
She's pretty good at amusing herself for a while but it usually results in the house getting trashed so I would rather let her run around on the beach or in the park and then do some quiter activities like colouring or reading a book together at home - in an ideal world
I don't think yyou are making the problem worse if you find a good balance of time.

I'm afraid I am the opposite, mine are booted out and told to entertain themselves, it usually involves lots of mud...

I have always encouraged being outside as I am a firm believer in fresh air (and that they are less likely to trash the house if they are outside to begin with)

Is it worth beginning a game with her and explaining that you have to go inside for 2 mins, why doesn't she carry on, and build it up so she gets the hang of playing by herself. Having said that, some children are better than others at playing by themselves.

I fully intend to boot outside when a bit older but thats a bit tricky with a wee'un! , besides I don't have a garden in which to boot!
