Glasses replacement lens for child

So my little boy wears glasses,
We paid quite a lot to get a pair of tomatoe glasses, £80 after using a voucher.
He fell in school and scratched one of the lenses, he says he can still see out of them, the scratch is minimal but still feel he should have unscratched glasses. Someone said we could get a voucher to replace the lenses but that it would depend on the scratch, would it be better to just pop put the lens completely and then we'd be guaranteed a lens replacement? Im worried they won't give us a voucher and to replace would be really expensive without a voucher

Then he would have no glasses at all until the replacement lens is made.

Ds has a really high prescription and we were told minimal scratches weren’t an issue, as a glasses wearer myself I have found this to be true.

He has a backup pair we got for free as he has a high prescription and it has changed so many times.
I will replace the lenses either way just feel the voucher should be there to help, a child shouldn't be walking about with damaged medical equipment (which is essentially what glasses are) just dont want to rely on an optometrist making the decision

If he’s at a high street opticians like Specsavers or Vision Express pop in to see them and they will sort it for free. NHS replacements for children are covered for free and the big chains should honour it. The money they get from the NHS isn’t actually enough to cover the cost which is why the independents sometimes don’t do it.

TL;DR. Contact the optician and ask.
