Those with ten year old girls - please describe them to me? I’m feeling like I’m failing and wondering whether my expectations are too high… thanks 🙏

Hormones are kicking in!!

She's funny, kind, lovely most of the time though. Then I get the eye roll and the huff! Needs to be told to do schoolwork, otherwise wouldn't do it.

Still enjoys imaginative play.

Have you found the Preteens Section yet @Kokomelonn? I think there's a thread running at the moment about 19 year old girls Wink

Mine is now 12 but the hormones began kicking in by 10. A real mix between being a happy go lucky child, angst ridden about appearances and friendships, moody, shouting and door slamming etc. Sometimes wanting dolls, sometimes wanting make up. Lots of eye rolling at me for being cringe and too strict.

Once they get to secondary school it calms down a bit because they are suddenly a bit more grown up but also the small fish in a big pond again so in someway easier. Although the hormones have become worse and dd can be totally irrational at times and veer between laughter and tears in any given moment. I do recall being like this myself as a teen.
