Gave 6 month old a teether which is 14-15 years old. Will I have exposed them to harmful bpa and potentially lead?

Parents in law gave it my son a teether which is around 14 years old and purchased in Asda. Did not think anything of it until I got home but looks like older plastics could contain lead and BPA plastic?

They was chewing on it for an hour. Would they have ingested anything harmful like the BPA? Or is that more of an issue when it is heated it leaks into food etc? It is hard plastic so surely does not have lead in?

All I can see is made in China stamp on it , no plastic numbers.

Not sure if my anxiety is in overdrive and this is a none issue

I don't think baby things had lead in them 14 years ago.

You anxiety is in overdrive. Throw teether away. Get busy doing something distracting

Just chuck it to the bin and that's it. I doubt you have done any harm in one hour.

How many babies do you think were harmed by lead poisoning from teethers in 2011?

Forget about it and chuck it in the bin. Wait till he's a little older he will put all sorts in his mouth

My child is 10 and I worked in retail 10 years previous to that when many guidelines were coming in about stuff like this.
And lead? Not a chance

My God. Are they hoarders?

Lead?!!! Good god

It'll be fine. Bin it and forget about it

The biggest issue is that the rubber has probably degraded now
