anisocoria

My son was born with Anisocoria (uneven pupils). This was investigated as a baby and he was discharged at 18 months, all fine. He had a regular eye test aged 7 or 8, which also said his vision was great.

He recently said he is finding it hard to read worksheets at school, so we took him for an eye test today. They have said they are concerned about his Anisocoria and it is affecting his vision. They struggled to correct it with glasses and the best they can get is an aided VA score of 6/7.5 (which happens to be the minimum standard for driving in the UK, so I guess OK, but not great). They have referred to the hospital for further investigation.

I have so many questions! If you have any experience of this, I'd be really grateful for any insight. We believe his Anisocoria was likely caused by birth trauma (traumatic forceps delivery), so we're fairly satisfied it's not hiding anything sinister, though obviously that will be investigated when we see the consultant.

My main questions relate to whether we can expect his vision to stay constant, if there's anything we can do to improve it, or if it may deteriorate.

Thanks for any experience shared.
