This is such a ridiculous question but...

how do you wipe a boys bottom once he's had a poo on the loo?

do you do it whilst he's on the loo, lay him down after and do it, make him do a headstand and do it from behind?

DS is rather loose poo-wise and it seems to be a bit of a tricky job !

DD bends over, headstand style and I do it from behind. I suppose I would be able to do it from the front but I do it this way because a) it's easier and b) she wriggles and could end up with poo all over her labia [niiiiiiice]

I am now working on how to get her to wipe her own bottom properly before she goes to school. In fact, now I have thought about it I'm off to start a thread...

Yep, stand up and touch his toes. I used to find my DS standing like that, waiting patiently - he hadn't told me he was going to the loo

mankymummy · 01/05/2008 13:00

no problem getting him to bend over, i just tell him to do a headstand.

The problem starts when he starts being clever, says "look mummy no hands", topples over, i'm trying to stop him falling over whilst wielding a babywipe and stopping the poo from going everywhere.

i am amazed thats how its done !

this parenting thing... i tell you, its all surprises!

now my dd has started school i have to remind her NOT to go into classroom with erh pants down and touch her toes and ask ehr teacher "please can you wipe me?"

i dread that!

tigerfeet - i have taught dd to put a foot up on her little step (that she uses to get to sink) and use wet wipes (kandoo or similar seem to be bette rthan dry bog roll)

lol np I can see dd doing exactly the same! In our efforts to make sure she is not ashamed of her bodily functions we have created a child that thinks nothing of declaring to a room full of people that she has just done two massive poos and Mummy had to wipe her bottom lots of times

Mankymummy - this should go on the list of things that no-one ever tells you when you are pregnant with your first

NotQuiteCockney · 01/05/2008 13:07

I always get mine to stand with hands on the ground, iyswim. We call it 'downwards dog' as that's the name of that position, in yoga.

Yes, teachers aren't fans of this method, though.

schneebly · 01/05/2008 13:08

'touch your toes'

nailpolish · 01/05/2008 13:10

LOL tiger

do you have a dd who comes back from the toilet and declares to entire restaurant "i did a huge big massive poo and it came out with a big plop and splashed my flower and oh goodness mummy had to wipe lots and lots" and old men choke on their soup

TigerFeet · 01/05/2008 13:13

I think we have non-identical twins naily, lolol

mankymummy · 01/05/2008 13:17

Tiger... yes on the list along with the correct etiquette to follow when you spray milk from your boobs on to a friends top when DC spits the nipple out mid feed!
