Gold top milk

My little girl has just turned one and I've stopped breast feeding. She's not that bothered about milk so much ( she does drink it ) but she loves yogurts and all cheeses etc. I was going to try her on jersey milk, has anyone tried their little ones with it? This is not being used for weight gain as she's already a little chunk and eats everything and anything.

I mean, sure, you can. But they are advised to drink 500ml a day of milk. It will get a bit expensive if she comes to like that and nothing else. Also a pain for any setting that only has normal milk. It IS lovely and I’d buy it more regularly if I could justify it, but it’s just pricey and not always available. But no harm in it either as long as the richness doesn’t cause her any tummy issues.

Thank you for your reply! Yeah that's a good outlook on it tbh, maybe I'll give it to her in the mornings then, then keep the usual blue top for the rest. Even though she doesn't drink much as it is!

I used to buy it sometimes when we ran out between the weekly shops because in our old house the nearest shop was a really fancy deli and that was all they had! The kids couldn’t tell the difference. Well no idea on the 1YO but I had a 4-5YO at the time who drank a lot of milk and wasn’t known for keeping her opinions quiet and she never said anything to suggest it was nicer or even any different to the usual from Sainsburys! Recommendations have also changed recently and kids can have semi skimmed now. Plus 2 servings of dairy foods like yoghurt or cheese a day meet her needs before she even touches the milk. Personally I wouldn’t bother as I don’t think it’s worth but knock yourself out if you’re not sticking to a budget and/or you like to drink it yourself and would appreciate it!

I thought it was 300 ml a day between 12 and 24 months? Have they changed the guidelines recently and I've missed it?

It’s 350ml milk, full fat or semi skimmed, or 2 servings of food made from milk e.g. yoghurt or cheese.
Semi skimmed being ok is new, not sure on the amount…
