Vomit kit - tips and tricks!

Hello fellow parents!

We've had a few rounds of vomiting in our house with preschoolers and I've resigned myself to the fact that I need to plan better for it.

Am thinking of creating a little "vomit emergency response kit" for each bedroom with black sack / kitchen roll / wipes / spare sheet / spare mattress protector / towel in each.

Can anyone recommend any other bits to keep in it for the immediate "oh shit, there's vomit everywhere"? Or any pro-tips to help in general?

One of mine was sick at the drop of a hat for years and years. Bowl under the bed at all times and Huggies bed mats under the bottom sheet. Plenty of spare bedding. Now he's 22 it's just alcohol induced. Not much better!

We do what the others have said - layers of sheets, towels everywhere.
Other things I'm not sure have been mentioned:
Hair plaited quickly before bed
We have a small cheap rug by side of bed for that first unexpected night when you don't have towels everywhere.
For the clean up, put a load of washing on before you go to sleep and have another load soaking in the sink/ a bucket so you can pop it on in the morning. Everything washed at 60 or sterilised with Milton tablets

We keep a spare pillow and duvet in clean covers in a box under Dd's bed and then at least you're not trying to put a new duvet cover on in the middle of the night while comforting a sick child.

It sounds counter intuitive but fizzy drinks can actually help reduce nausea and vomiting.

Lazy mum option:
kids bedrooms have a small plastic waste bin with lid as standard. Used for rubbish as normal. All mattresses have a protector all the time.
they are trained that if they suddenly wake and feel sick to throw up directly into the bin. (With a bit of warning I will have emptied the bin and lined with a carrier bag.) if not doesn’t matter as it’s much easier to sort a bin of rubbish and sick than a carpet and whole bed!
once there has been a sick I’d replace duvet (even if clean) with a couple of fleece blankets for the duration.
