My child doesn't see the world outside the TV

My child doesn't see the world outside the TV. What games and activities will effectively help distract a 3.5-year- old child from watching cartoons?

Switch the tv off and go outside !

@Angelika7 you might have to expand on why they're able to watch so much tv.

Turn the tv off. Unplug it if they know how to turn it on themselves, take away any tablet type toys. Let them play in the garden, take them to the park, buy a scooter & take them on a walk. Literally do anything but let them watch tv.

My son is a similar age, indoor activities he enjoys are things like baking, colouring in, puzzles, we make our own dough & then he’ll play with it after, he enjoys hide & seek, what’s the time mr wolf. He also has an Alexa who he can ask to play music he likes or she will play some games & if you have audible you can listen to stories, he really enjoys that. He is however a very outdoorsy boy & his preference would to be outside whatever the weather.

I use TV for when I need a breather or if I need to get on with something.

Unless there is a reason regarding either of you that makes it hard to get out the house there is literally nothing stopping you walking outside the front door & going out.

I have an 8, 5 and 3 year old. Cartoons on tv for an hour each day. That’s it. Two days a week no tv at all. Small amount of screen use on phone for a 10 min educational game twice a week maybe. That’s it. They don’t own iPads or phones and we don’t watch tv unless they are asleep. Turn your tv off. And play and go outside. You are harming your child if that’s all they do.

Find him something more interesting to do. If he's obsessed with a particular cartoon, maybe record a couple of episodes and only play those, see how bored he gets with them.

Give us some more info ,
Why does your dc only see the world through a TV, do you mean they watch it a lot or they expect everything in real life to be like the TV, ie a cartoon cat gets squashed and pops back up so they expect the same to happen in real life
