I bought one because I was curious, and we were looking into an alternative to fluffles now that tots bots have stopped making them at exactly the same time as we want to buy size 2s (grr)

So I washed it as per instructions, then put it on DS for a couple of hours. Then I went to change him and found him covered in wee. On closer investigation, I found poo slopping around inside.

Is it me, or do these things not have any power of absorbancy or containment? I suspect they might be better stuffed with about three of the pads, but I don't feel inclined to experiment further!

Thank goodness I found out that a friend had a load of size 2 fluffles she was willing to sell to me!

I think the smart nappies are ok, but the sizing is completely wierd. The large inserts fit perfectly in the medium covers and I assume the medium inserts fit in the small covers. They might tempt some disposable users to try reusables but I much prefer a nice cotton or bamboo nappy and wrap!

Yes thats the problem IMO - they are pretty much marketed as a half-way compromise between a reusable and a disposable. I have had a fair few diposable users tell me they plan to try the smart nappy as a introduction to cloth (because of this marketing ploy) only for them to run away screaming in horror at the outcome . Strangely enough a fair few of them are reluctant to try anything else after that.

IMO they aren't exactly representative of a decent cloth nappy but then mothercare has yet to come up with anything that is . Don't know why - there is plenty on the market already that they could take 'inspiration' from.
