Hi all this is gonna probably seem a bit mad but my 15 month old has stopped doing a few things he used to do. He used to know
'where is your head, nose, tummy, feet and teeth' and point accordingly to them but now in the last couple of days will point blank refuse to do any of these if you ask him the question.

Is he just bored of showing me ? Or is this a lost skill and like a regression?

He might just be going through a leap in development. He might be annoyed at being asked to point at body parts. He might have hearing issues. Id wait a week and see if things change.

It's definitely not hearing as he is responding to other simple commands

He’s very likely just a bit bored or feeling overwhelmed with all the pressure you might be putting on him. They can absolutely sense our anxiety. Or he might just feel feeling a bit off. Try teaching him something new instead, like something more tactile or movement based than focused on language.

Try to go with what he is interested in rather than steering him. He has probably got bored with that game rather than being unable to still play it iyswim. Are you getting out to lots of groups, I would’ve gone bats if I had stayed home playing where’s my nose games all day 🤣

Toddlers usually get bored of being quizzed after a while. People default to these sorts of questions with kids: "what's that?" "What colour is it?" "What number is this?" "What does the cow say?"

It's better just to chat with them or do these things in songs and rhymes. Eventually they get understandably fed up of "where's your nose?" for the hundredth time.

My little girl did that with her speaking - to the point I fully panicked and got a SALT consultation. Obviously the day before the consultation she suddenly started speaking in complete complex sentences and with a truly ridiculously vocabulary so I looked like a complete muppet.

they just like to keep us on our toes sometimes.

I wouldn’t worry, my dd (10 months) started saying mumma at about 8 months, so taught her dadda too and she stopped saying mumma until yesterday and started saying it again loads dunno 🤷🏻‍♀️ i think once they learn a new thing the old one gets boring, she also has stopped waving so much as dad has taught her thumbs up 👍🏻 lol now before everyone leaves in the morning they get a weird little thumbs up wave thing lol xx
