Teething baby off bottle for almost 2 weeks

Morning all just wondering my almost 6 month old is teething she is ok in herself just flushed cheeks drooling & eating hands but refuses all her bottles it’s a battle to get 2-3oz into her and this has been going on for 2 weeks. I’m having to give extra dream feeds in the night so that she gets enough and if I don’t she won’t compensate for it during the day . She should be having around 975mls a day and most days only has about 400ml for the day going to bed as that’s all I can get into her in.l I get her up to around 800ml with the dream feeds so she isn't under eating by a lot once I keep that up. I’ve been trying since 4.30am to get her to take anything for me today she has only taken an oz. Not sure what to do my anxiety is through the roof but I can’t force her to eat . Is it normal for them to refuse bottles for this long ? I'm giving her everything I can think of to help if she is in pain.

That does sound a bit difficult. Is she bright and alert at times? Is she having wet nappies often enough?

What pain relief is she having?

Yes she is totally fine otherwise maybe more dirty nappies than usual , she's having calpol and nurofen before bed and bongela and teetha . I am starting to wonder is there something else going on she screams at me when I try feed her will drink an oz and then refuse it , I'm even putting the teat in the freezer first I just don't know what to do anymore

She had vaccines on Monday and had a temp for 24 hours but other than that no , and the not taking the bottles was already a week in when she had the vaccines . I am starting to wonder if she had maybe a sore throat or something might ring GP in the morning

I definitely would ring the GO in the morning and say that she needs seeing tomorrow due to the reduction in her milk. I'd also ask them to check her ears and throat as sometimes they can stop them wanting to drink.

Yes I did think maybe ears or throat but she is happy in herself surely if her ears were at her she would be showing signs of it and be cranky or crying it would be quiet painful? I'll ring anyway in the morning for an appointment for peace of mind

Not always unfortunately. My DS I once had a raging ear infection and the only sign was that he couldn't quite hear me as well as usual.

I think all you can do is see the GP. I agree that if her ears or throat are hurting it might be only slightly uncomfortable most of the time, but horrid when she eats. Also you say she's having more dirty nappies than usual, are her nappies less solid than usual? I also wonder could she have a mild tummy bug? I remember sometimes as a kid, having a tummy bug, but not being that poorly apart from diorearra and low appetite. I didn't always vomit or have horrid stomach ache, which would make your baby cry. I hope it stops soon.

I was putting the extra dirty nappies down to her teeth the occasional one is more watery but the rest are the usual . So hard to know what's wrong at this age . Might be no harm getting her some probiotics maybe if no ear or throat infection when GP sees her

Did they suggest anything at all?

@TinyMouseTheatre not a thing just said to keep up with the dream feeds and not to worry unless she is having less than half of what she should have in 24 hours or hasn't had a wet nappy in 8 hours .
