New Dads advice

It's a while since we were first time parents (32 yrs) but was chatting with a business client today, about becoming a first time Dad. He asked what advice would I give on how to make things a bit easier once they get home.

Put on the spot I said, keep it simple. When you're either/ both getting up in the night to feed the little one, make a flask up or two, and leave some of your partners fav biscuits and treats out too. It made our lives that bit easier and made us smile. At 3am. When he defied sleep - night after night.

It so brought that feeling vulnerable back.

Any other suggestions?

Batch cook before hand and freeze food for the first week.
Make sure you have already communicated and agreed on what visitors are allowed over.

Absolutely! On both counts. We wanted the first 24 hours just for us two and the boy, but my PIL decided otherwise and just rocked up at hospital, despite being asked not to.
