Vest tips to reduce crying changes

New poster here, parent to a three-week old who hates being changed. The screams tend to start when we remove her vest, mostly around those awful arms holes. We think it’s a combo of cold, stress and general discomfort. Any tips for generally reducing screams around changes, especially what vests do people recommend? Is there an alternative?!

I think this is a pretty normal thing for newborns. I found that pulling the vest down over their bum and legs was often preferable to pulling over their head. However, I think it’s just one of those things you have to wait out. It’s horrible when they sound so distressed though!

Just get it done quickly. They get used to it and don't cry so much in time.

The necks are envelope and stretchy so that you can pull them down her, rather than over her head

Get it done quickly but crying is good for babys and develops their intercostal muscles etc. I don't leave them to cry in a prolonged way, just don't worry too much about little episodes.

Singing can sometimes help

Wrap vests instead of ones that need to be pulled over the head or down the body are a godsend for this.
