Are there different thicknesses of terries?

I have a couple of old Mothercare terries which seem pretty absorbent although they're quite thin. I can a trim nappy with the Jo/angel fold (if I do say so myself!)

I also have a newer bright bots terry which is very absorbent but much more bulky.

Is it just because the Mothercare ones are old, or are there different thicknesses? Any recommendations for a trim, absorbent terry?

I have some junior joy ones which were cheap off ebay, they are very thin and poor quality and also some Harrington's which are lovely and thick and cuddly. They were from a RL branch of an ebay shop - Tony's textiles, they were £15 for a dozen. The thin ones I find handy for pad folding and using in a pocket nappy and they are ok in themselves as a nappy as DD is still little. I think when she is bigger the Harrington's will be less bulky and we'll need the absorbency.

Didn't really answer the question did it?

Misread the thread. Thought it said ' different thicknesses of terriers' . Thought you were looking for a clever dog!

yup, think it is longer pile or something on some.

Slim, absorbent you need bamboo - try www.nappyzone.co.uk - they are slightly bigger than standard, but the bamboo shrinks slightly so you get a more normal size
