2 year old won't sleep, keeps waking and crying

My daughter has never been a great sleeper, but things are getting worse not better.

She has grown out of her cot but will keep getting out of her bed, so I have ended up putting back her bed time to 8pm and sleeping in her bedroom. She shares my bed because that way I can settle her more quickly - by putting a hand on her to reassure her that I am there - and get a bit of sleep myself. Even so she disturbs her 5 year old brother, who has autism and really hates the sound of her crying. (He sleeps in the next room and I put him to bed earlier at 7.) I don't ever get to sleep in the bedroom I am supposed to share with my husband, because that way he gets a bit more sleep. He works long hours and has early starts. I have a part-time admin job, quite responsible, and am absolutely shattered from sleep deprivation. If I am lucky I might only get woken 3 times a night and she may settle quite quickly, but sometimes it is 4 or 5 or 6 times and there are long periods where she will cry and just not settle.

At the moment I think my daughter is teething but this is going on a long time. It is also quite likely that she has autism. The nursery is quite worried because she isn't talking - babbling a lot but no real words. She also has a lot of tantrums during the day, lots of screaming and trying to bang her head on the ground, if you take something away from her because it's not safe to play with her.

We have white noise on to try and calm her. This does work quite well for her daytime night but not so well at night.

Any suggestions. (Please be kind, because I am at my wits end.)

I told you I was sleep deprived.
