Recommendations for a travel pram

Hello, wondering if anyone recommends their travel pram? Looking for something light weight, comfortable and ideally can fold down to be taken on the plane. Thank you!

We went with the Ergobaby metro plus deluxe and I love it. We went abroad when DS was 6 months old, however he was born 5 weeks early so still wasn’t fully supporting himself by then. The pushchair says from birth and what we really liked is that it can lie flat. All that said I wouldn’t use it daily for a <4 month old baby personally. It is well padded too so had the comfort for DS. We still use it now for occasional trips to shopping centres etc and he’s 18months. Although now he wants to walk or be carried more.

The downside is it is a bit faffy to fold. It is <10kg but still ends up going under the plane on the two trips we have done so far. We could take it to the plane door though, it’s the other side where we had to get it from the carousel. I took a baby carrier and used that so it wasn’t too bad even when he was 12months and 90th percentile I could still use the carrier for short durations. A second downside is the basket underneath is tiny, then again a lot of travel ones are.

There are others people always suggest eg bugaboo butterfly and joolz aer. I did try them in the shop but a) couldn’t justify £400 and b) I put my DS in them and he didn’t look that well supported at his age. I admit the folding on them was a lot better though. All that said I risked blindly ordering Ergobaby online due to a relative recommending how much they liked theirs. I first looked to see if there were any on marketplace but had no luck so caught it on a sale online. If budget is a major issue look around for any of them second hand, or a joie pushchair they seam to be better budgeted.

Go to a shop to try them out if you can, I found the two above in a mamas and papas grouped together with four travel pushchairs. Everyone has a preference too, if I went on reviews alone I would have bought a butterfly but it wasn’t the best for DS in our case.

We went for the Joolz Aer and ditched the big buggy at about 18 months I think. We have used it a lot and it handles some punishment! It folds really well and easily. Lightweight. The straps can be a pain but he usually just wants to hop in and out now anyway. We did look at cheaper options including a john lewis own brand one but it wasn't good quality.

@Blue2020 thank you so much that’s really helpful. I find there’s so much choice I get confused!
