Toddler / picky eater / refusal

Hi all

just looking for some advice please on my nearly 2 year old son

we went with more traditional weaning purées etc as my partner was a major worrier! We sometimes used those ready made baby meals

approx 2 months ago he stopped letting us feed him so I let him try himself which he sometimes does. He lets grandma feed him though and sometimes at nursery. At nursery he has more baby led meals and a real range of food apparently eats everything often double portions etc

for us though he will not eat anything else he has not had before or a baby meal. Tonight I home made pasta bolognaise and cut it up a bit but not much and he refused it. So I tried a baby meal and he refused it so I gave him his yoghurt and fruit which he ate. So for supper later I will give him toast. I try give him a small plate of our food later on but he won’t bother. We can’t eat at 4.30pm but I pretend and join in etc

how long does this fussy stage go? Do I just continue as we are and give him things I know he will eat or keep trying new things moving onto more normal food?

He's almost two. Stop feeding him, he can feed himself. He eats well at nursery so he's clearly a good eater, it's all behavioural at home.

Put out the same food for everyone at meal times and leave him to it. If he refuses he can have a banana.
