I’m looking for recommendations for books for 18 month olds please! We have so many books but I feel we’re at an in between stage, where he’s bored of “baby” books but too little for proper stories.

Some of the things we’re currently enjoying are One Mole Digging A Hole and Goat Goes To Playgroup by Julia Donaldson, and The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

What are all your little ones enjoying at the moment??

Thank you in advance!

Mine are older now but how about Toddle Waddle by Nick Sherratt or Dear Zoo?

Have you got a local library? I let my kids go in there and take any books out they want to take home. we swap them every couple of weeks. Pip and Posy books are a favorite with my 2 year old at the minute

Mine loved the Acorn Wood series. Anything with flaps or things to interact with.

My little boy started to really enjoy Chris Haughton’s books at that age, and, a year on, still loves them. I also really enjoy them - they’re really lovely. Enjoy finding something you both love!

Mine loved things that rhymes (so anything Julia Donaldson!) Or has flaps - have you come across the busy board books e.g. busy nursery, busy pets etc? They have slider things and boys to push round Mine absolutely loved those. There are some usborne sound books too, they were great for in the car as I could hear which bits they were at and talk to them without needing to look.

Singing Mermaid by Julia Donaldson

The usborne sound ones. We had a seasons one that she loved.

Dear zoo

Agree with PP - anything that rhymes or has flaps!

Hungry caterpillar has some good spin off books- we have "The Hungry Caterpillar's Australian friends" which has some nice big flaps in

Also if you're into one mole, you'll love chocolate mousse for greedy goose!

Thank you all so much! Lots of these are what we’ve been reading recently 😊 and we do go to the library regularly. I will be sure to check out the recommendations for things we haven’t yet tried!

Any lift the flap books. The 'that's not my...' range too.
