I feel so guilty going back to work and leaving my daughter with a childminder he’s 8 months old and I’ve gone back to work as that’s what I agreed and now I’m regretting it …..

if I leave I’ll universal credit help me ???

it’s just me at home no dad so just my wage

I went back when my child was 7 months old as a single parent. Honestly it saved me, it gave me time to be myself and not just be "mum." Also great for your child to be around others. Universal credit should help even with you working and I've always been better off working full time.
Nearly 10 years later I have no regrets! Nursery did an amazing job of nurturing and developing my child whilst I got to work, provide and do something for myself. Its extremely hard to start with but honestly, you'll be fine x

You and your employer are both making pension contributions - think long term.

I went back after both mat leaves and it was so hard. I often wondered why I was doing this. But, a decade on and I am glad I did.

I was going to say the same. It's hard now but in a few years you'll be really glad that you have those pension contributions and continuity in your employment.

Oh gosh there is no right answer - typically whatever is best for the household as a whole is best for kids. No point staying at home with him if you’re having money worries as the stress will eat you up. But if you’re REALLY regretting it and it’s affecting you that much then leave your job. No right answer and no way of ever knowing which is best. If it’s purely based on feeling bad that you’re not parenting him yourself all day, then this is completely normal
