Chicken pox remedies

I’m pretty sure my DCs are coming down with chicken pox. We noticed a couple of spots on DS2 and then it seemed as though more were appearing before our eyes. We then found suspect spots on DS1.

They're asleep in bed now, but just wondering what might make tomorrow a little easier for them. In the 90s we used camomile lotion but I don’t think that’s advised anymore.

Any chicken pox tips?

Oat bath worked well for us. Handful of uncooked oats in a sock, as you're running the bath -put it under the stream of water and squidge it to make the water all cloudy.

Ah yes, oat baths! We did this when they had hand, foot and mouth. It was great - thanks @Pootles34

Bicarbonate baths are good for the itching and we also made paste out of bicarbonate and water and smeared it on spots.

While mine had CP they had 2-3 baths a day, it was the only time they were comfy!

Head and shoulders classic original in the bath as a bubble bath (I also washed my kids with it) twice a day I done this
poxclin mousse too regularly throughout the day.
my kids were absolutely covered and fortunately have no scarring from it

Averno bath ointment was the best for us and there's a foam treatment you can get on Amazon which really soothed it

Piriton will help with the itching

My two, being totally different, had chixpox in different ways. DD1 was itchy so bath remedies worked well for her on the first days but then she needed distraction.
DD2 was not very itchy but had a more viral experience so needed regular calpol and bedrest.
In general, I think calpol or equivalent really helps take the edge off.
