as it says in the title she is 6 and weight about 2st 8lb, our gp was actually a bit worried about her being underweight for a while and wanted us to keep a food diary but as my dh is naturally slim i thought she just took after him, also i did not want her to get a complex about how much she has eaten by seeing me writing it all down.

when we uploaded our holiday pictures last week the first thing she said was "OMG I LOOK SO FAT" dh and i were really shocked at this and told her that she was not but she said that's what parents always say.

now she is refusing certain foods because she thinks they will make her fat. she has the healthiest diet you could imagine (well almost!!) she loves her fruit and veg and i dont see the problem with her having a bit of chocolate when she feels like it.

i am so angry at myself and think it has all come from me, i grew up with my mum on a diet all the time which i believe has had an effect on my weird eating habits and i hate to think i have passed it on to her.

Sounds like she may have heard one of her mates saying it - do you think? I agree it is a bit worrying though.

Maybe you could ask your HV about leaflets written for children about height / weight to "prove" your point and hopefully change those habits.
