Thoughts on the 3 year old jabs

Just wanted to reach out to people and see what their thoughts are on the 3 year old jabs. I've heard a lot of bad things about them, my friend also works in a nursery/school and there was one boy who was developing great speaking fine the lot as soon as he had these jabs he's stopped talking and hes back in nappy's and not hitting any milestones anymore. She also said there is a few more cases across the uk. My 2 year and 9 month old has both had the jabs before just get a bit worried about the 3 year old ones.

OP posts:

Both of my DC had them with zero issues, they were the easiest set of all on them except the bit at the surgery as they were old enough to understand! Easily sorted with a packet of sweets for distraction.

Your friend doesn't sound like she knows what she's talking about. What are her medical or scientific qualifications?

If the vaccines were really harming children (they're not), the NHS would stop giving them as it would be cheaper not to.

Read about the resurgence of measles and whooping cough and you'll be running to the appointment.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 24/10/2024 09:41

Zero problems here. And I'm over the moon I don't have to worry about my kids dying of whooping cough or measles anymore

mindutopia · 24/10/2024 09:41

They are pretty much the same ones they’ve already had at 8/12/16 weeks and at 12 months. Nothing new or different. Your friend sounds like she’s been spending too much time watching shite on YouTube. 😂

user2848502016 · 24/10/2024 10:10

Nonsense, just get your DC vaccinated. Kids used to die of these diseases and still do in some parts of the world- how lucky we are to be able to protect our children - and it's free!
I am a biological scientist, all my scientist and doctor friends have their DC vaccinated for everything they can....

TeenLifeMum · 24/10/2024 11:23

Best thing you can do for your dc.

SpecduckularlyQuackers · 24/10/2024 11:40

I think we're incredibly fortunate to have such fabulous medical advances available. I'm grateful that my DS1 had these vaccinations and will be getting DS2 vaccinated when he is old enough.

I also think that people that contribute to vaccine hesitancy have the deaths of children on their hands.

PlantDoctor · 24/10/2024 11:41

Absolute nonsense. People should not be blaming vaccines for things without any evidence, particularly when the diseases they protect against really can cause serious harm or death.

Protect your child. Get them vaccinated. X

MrsSkylerWhite · 24/10/2024 11:42

It would be extremely irresponsible - personally, I think neglectful - not to have your children vaccinated unless there are recognised medical contra-indications.

I'll add I'm also a biologist and agree that everyone I know has had their child vaccinated.

DD had her preschool jabs week before last and apart from a few tears while actually having it done, there were no side effects whatsoever. Not even the rest of that day. It was never in any doubt for me that she would be having them.

MrSeptember · 24/10/2024 12:34

One second hand account of a child from a non medical specialist vs years of medical reseach and analysis?

Yeah, get your child vaccinated.

Snorlaxo · 24/10/2024 12:37

You should look up what it’s like to get these illnesses.

MMR causing autism symptoms has been debunked many times and resulted in a doctor getting struck off for his conduct. There will be lots of articles on why Dr Andrew Wakefield was very wrong for causing false panic.

dementedpixie · 24/10/2024 12:41

The mmr given at the preschool jabs is exactly the same as the one given at 1 year. My kids had fewer reactions at the preschool ones than they had at the younger ones.

LittleSparklyStar · 24/10/2024 12:42

paed nurse here. This is nonsense. A child may have gone backwards after their jabs but the jabs weren’t the reason for this. The jabs are lifesaving.

InvisibleRadiator · 24/10/2024 12:44

Don't listen to rumors and hearsay from people with zero medical knowledge. Listen to actual medical experts drawing on years of experience and peer reviewed research.
Get the jabs.

ConiferBat · 24/10/2024 13:17

My thoughts are...

Get your kids vaccinated.

sexnotgenders · 24/10/2024 14:00

My thoughts? Please can you provide the name of the nursery/school your batshit friend works for because I would like to ensure no child of mine ever attends a setting staffed by someone so moronic and lacking in knowledge about child development or the importance of vaccinations. No child's development has been stunted/reversed by a vaccine. Plenty of children have been left disabled or sadly killed by the illnesses themselves though.

I've got no patience for threads like this. Stop being so ridiculous and get your child vaccinated

UnderOverUp · 24/10/2024 14:01

There is a difference between correlation and causation.

Yes, some children will regress after their vaccinations. But all the evidence shows that is coincidence, it would have happened anyway.

SErunner · 24/10/2024 14:02

Vaccines are not a conspiracy. The NHS is facing increasing challenge from diseases that were once virtually eradicated but are on the rise due to misinformation spread through stupid posts like these. Be responsible, get your child vaccinated and be grateful you have access to it.

WhiteHorse92 · 24/10/2024 14:10

Well I don't know anyone who hasn't vaccinated their children so not sure where you're hearing 'all these bad things', then again, I don't really keep company with people who believe in stupid conspiracies. Even if jabs did cause autism (which they don't), as a parent I've decided I'd rather my child be autistic than die from measles so...

fashionqueen0123 · 24/10/2024 14:11

A few more across the U.K.?

well that sounds massively reliable 🤣

In non immunised children that go on to be diagnosed it is common for them to regress and lose speech etc at this age nothing to do with the jabs. The doctor who started this lie has admitted he was wrong and it's been proved to be a lie.
Your friend is not a specialist and sounds very unprofessional.
Infection rates are on the rise and children get serious side effects from getting the illnesses....which is why we spend money immunising them.... immunising saves lives.

FrancisSeaton · 24/10/2024 14:26

What a load of 🐎 💩
Anti vaxers are never very intelligent and have no idea of causation and correlation so of course they will spout 'bad things'
One thing I can assure you of is there are far more cases of diseases that used to kill kids in the thousands re emerging in developed countries due to the damage these lunatics cause

LoveSandbanks · 24/10/2024 14:38

Choosing not to vaccinate is the epitome of privilege. You only get that choice because so many of us did vaccinate our children. There are many countries in the world who don’t have these vaccination programmes and people who live there are aghast at people here choosing not to give these vaccines to their children.

And, frankly, even if there were a link between vaccines and autism, you’d rather they bloody died if measles than became autistic. There IS a link between measles and permanent disability or death. There is also a link between mumps and infertility. There’s a link between rubella and birth defects.

When I had my children I was an anti vaxxer and went searching for credible research. Even with the benefit of “confirmation bias” I still could find anything that wasn’t written by someone who was very obviously stupid or mad!

Speedweed · 24/10/2024 14:42

Were you vaccinated? If so, why would you not protect your children in the same way?

Not vaccinating them is the equivalent of putting your seat belt on in a car but not theirs. Maybe your driving will be enough to protect them, or maybe not.

Why take the chance, when you can give them the best protection you have available to you?
