My god! What a nightmare this has been! She's definitely over the worst now but I'm finding her appetite is slow returning! Her first bout of sickness came Friday evening, hasn't been sick since Saturday night, but nappies yesterday were.... interesting to say the least 🤣🙈 only one soiled nappy today which is good and she seems to be keeping whatever milk she's drinking down, and she's drinking water, but the appetite for things she normally loves... When will it return?? 😩😮‍💨

Hi @chocolatelover91 so sorry she is suffering with this 😞 I could’ve written this post last weekend about 19 month old DS! He started vomiting Friday night and that continued for about 20 hours. Horrendous nappies continued until Sunday but that was the last of the D&V. However his appetite didn’t resume until the following Thursday/ Friday, so it took the best part of a week, and for the first 4 days he didn’t eat a single thing, just drank milk (he is still breastfed). I was quite worried, then caught the bug myself Monday night and also had absolutely no appetite for 5 days as the nausea just wouldn’t subside, and mine was definitely more mild than his so it wasn’t surprising in hindsight he didn’t want to eat anything.

When she is ready she will eat again! My DS is more than making up for it now, but it definitely took a good 6/7 days before he had much interest in food at all. Hope your little one feels better soon!

Her appetite will eventually return, ive got 5 kids aged between 14 and 9 months so you can imagine how many tummy bugs ive been through lol start with bland easy to stomach foods, buttery toast, scrambled/poached eggs, plain pasta/rice and build on it from there, just put it in front of them and even if they only have a nibble its still something in their stomach to kick start their metabolism again, most important is to keep their fluids up, but not just water as it can dilute the minerals in their body, so squash, soups (my lot always liked sweet tea (decaffeinated) when they were sick gave them a bit of energy boost too) xx

Hello both! Thank you for the speedy replies! Means a lot! I understand I've got far more to come 😔 it's just adjusting to it all being so helpless is vile. Good news is she ate a lot of her lunch today and her nappies seem to be returning to normal! She's back to sleeping through the night now like normal which is great and she's back to being mischievous lol! 🩷🩷
