Dropping night feed

Hi all.

I go back to work in March and my 6 month old still wakes in the night for night feeds. I currently do one at either 3 or 4am ish. She wakes at other parts of the night maybe 11/12am but usually can resettle her without a feed. I’m wondering for some advice on how and when to wean her off night feeds for when I return to work.

Thanks

My experience was that when my baby was getting a good amount of solid food in at dinner time she would then sleep through the night. It was around 8 months if I remember correctly. Mashed sweet potato was a favourite in the early days of weaning. Then a bottle right before bed. She's now about to turn one and hardly ever wants milk in the night, maybe once in the last 2 months.

My baby was still feeding twice a night until 6 months. One feed about 11pm then another about 4am. I slowly reduced the 4am feed by half an oz every couple days then stopped it completely when down to about 3oz. I then did the same with the 11pm feed. By 7.5 months he had no feeds and was sleeping through the majority of the time. He was also on 3 meals a day by this point (and four 6oz bottles I think).

Little jealous... both mine fed through the night every 2 and 3 hours until I weaned them completely at 13 and 14 months no matter how much they ate through the day...
If she's ready to wean, then cuddling could be enough, or a warm bottle of water to replace night feed while she transitions?

Thank you everyone. I’ll be starting her on solids this weekend and the health visitor also mentioned starting solids may fill her up and she’ll hopefully sleep throughout. It’s hopeful to hear your experiences. Fingers crossed 🤞🏽
