DOuble Buggys

Hi there

Can anyone tell me which is a good double buggy to go for? Also, do you know any place where I could get one second hand?

I have a bugaboo already which is in great nic. I don't think I will be using the double buggy for too long as my DS is pretty active so I may use just the bugaboo and a wheel board later on, hence, I don't want to spend an absolute fortune on something new iykwim.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction on good makes/models/good places to get them second hand if possible?

Many thanks

Second hand - local newspaper, ebay, gumtree, here

brands - maclaren, phil n teds, shop own (mothercare etc), cosatto

What do you want - twin (side by side) or tandem (one infront of other)

Maclaren twins are very good value and hold their cost so are good prices for selling on;

on ebay for £70 (inc postage)

Ive got a Mamas and Papas twin Aria. I went for this one as it was the lightest in the shop, folds fairly flat and was the narrowest( i have seen singles nearly as wide)
go to mothercare and try some out and see what u think- I found that with the tandem ones I couldnt lift the front very easily(i.e to get up a pavement step) with DD sitting in the front seat

Can I just ask if anyone as used a first wheels city twin on a bus?

fiodyl · 24/04/2008 12:33

Ive not tried it but it looks similar dimensions to my twin and I take it on the bus no problem

Thanks fiodyl New baby due in august and plan to do plenty of walking and leave the car at home.
But just in case needed bus (driving has made me very lazy) was hoping it would fit.

we have done stacks of research on this and if we decide to get one, we'll be going for the 'out and about nipper' or a baby jogger - you should see how easily the baby jogger folds !! not keen on restricted view the child in the back gets in a phil and ted..

we're trying a buggy board with bugaboo to start. good luck.
