4yo DS and 1yo DD - DD is fairly easy as things go but she's still very busy, opening cupboards, dragging the loo roll off, making a total mess when she eats etc, but nothing too trying.

DS is extremely hard work, I feel anyway. He's my first so I have nothing to compare to but he is the most extremely stubborn character, he's loud, easily irritated, hyper and just requires a lot of patience and a lot of energy. He's just started school and seems to be doing well there, but at home he's difficult and DH and I are really feeling tired from it all.

Anyway, I am sat here on the bathroom floor feeling sorry for myself, feeling like this is just so hard!! I am googling "when does it become easier with 2 children", and something said when the youngest turns 6 wtf. I'm can't handle the thought of 5 more years of this.

Anyone else?

Yeah I can totally relate. Four year old and one year old, I’ve never understand what people have meant about kids getting easier as they get older as I’m sure my four year old just gets harder with each age! 0-3 was actually a breeze with him.

My 1yo is a lot harder work than his older brother was at that age too.

It feels relentless but I keep reminding myself we are in the thick of it and it won’t always be like this. Solidarity!

All of the above.

Our mantra is ‘they won’t be this little for long’. We say it at least 17 times a day. Occasionally it’s followed by ‘thank fuck’.

Occasionally it’s followed by wine.
