Nappy changing tips for newborn baby boy

Hi ladies - I’m really struggling with changing my baby boy’s nappy & him peeing everywhere.

I’ve tried running a wet wipe on his tummy before changing him but it doesn’t seem to work - he will wait until I’m almost done cleaning him up & then go to the loo and it gets everywhere.

Does anyone have any advice ?

its the cold, cover him with a muslin cloth

dont leave him until he has a nappy back on

Wipe around his penis with a wet wipe then immediately put his nappy back over that area. Hopefully the cold will stimulate him to wee.

I always used to pull the nappy down to expose him to the air, then put it back over to catch the inevitable wee! Then change as fast as possible just in case there’s another one 😂

I agree with all of the above, and in addition, my advice is to just accept it! Mine is over 10 months old now and did it to me again this morning 😂

Undo-nappy,
Let it be free and exposed to air.
Give it a wipe
Whip dirty back up at the first sign.
Do this a couple of times if needs be.
If still no wee, then employ SWAT team precision and GO GO GO!

Absolutely this 😂

My 9 mo still does this. If I can be bothered I’ll take all his clothes off for a change so at least they won’t get ruined. Most of the time I can’t be arsed though (and regret it!!).

Ok thanks everyone I’ll try a muslin over his chest to keep him warm and airing him out a little before changing.

he cries when he’s changed so think I’ve been rushing trying to get it done
