What does your baby eat in a day?

DS is now 8 months old. For the past two months he's been having porridge & fruit for breakfast and either a purée pouch or homemade meal for dinner.

I'm going to up his meals to three a day now and incorporate lunch. Just looking for some good shouts and inspiration really, I enjoy reading food diaries 😁! Please feel free to comment!

Today, his dinner was puréed steak with cauliflower & potatoes.

I think at that age mine liked veg & potato tots and soft oaty bars - loads of recipes on instagram! https://www.instagram.com/yummy_little_belly/ has some nice ideas.
Also really rate the Joe Wicks wean in 15 book and What Mummy Makes for recipe inspo!

Just whatever we’re having-porridge / yoghurt / toast / fruit for breakfast, finger food for lunch like bits of cheddar, cooked chicken, olives, veg, fruit, and a portion of our dinner. Never buy anything pre made for a baby! All full of junk.

my lg is 9 months and today had fruit filled shredded wheat (apricot) i let it go a bit soggy before giving it to her, cold chicken and sweetcorn pasta with couple quavers for lunch and spaghetti hoops, fishcake and chips for dinner, yesterday she had shreddies for breakfast, toast, cooked carrot sticks and smoothie melts for lunch, and egg beans skinless sausage, fried tomato and hashbrown for dinner (fry up lol), she basically has what we have just smaller portions lol xx

Wow, I'm saving that instagram page for down the line, those recipes look fab! The problem is we can only do purée at the moment, even if something is blended and has a couple bumps he spits it out. When he's more confident with solid textures I shall be trying these thank you

Sounds good thank you for your comment!! Mmm I do agree about the shop bought stuff though I am super careful with what I buy. I hope the the ingredients list is exactly what they say and there aren't any "nasties" added 👀 Ella's Kitchen seems to be a winner

Ooo chicken and sweetcorn pasta! Do you blend it? (granted blended pasta must be a bit gross lol!) I look forward to not having to purée everything then he can just have what we have but I'm making separate meals currently.
That's amazing, fry ups! Your baby sounds like a dream eater 🥰 xx

I just fed him whatever we ate but cooked without salt. We added salt to our meals at the table if we wanted to.

At 8 months he liked porridge, avocado, toast and butter, corn on the cob, mango, bolognese, yoghurt, curry, soup, French toast, rice cakes, humous... that sort of thing.

I used a stick blender to blend soup, curries and bolognese a little. But never too much, I felt it was nice to have lots of texture, as long as everything was prepared safely to minimise choking risks.

I think i only pureed her food until she could sit without support in her high chair, now she eats the same as us, before she could pincer grip i left everything whole so she could pick it up easier and chomp on it, ive just modified our food slightly for her (i dont add salt when cooking, i cut carrots into sticks instead of slices now, i take the skins off her foods like cucumber& sausage etc, i steam our veg now so it doesn’t turn to mush when she grips it lol, all my kids are good eaters (even brussle sprouts lol) xx
