DD hair removal

My DD is 8, yes 8, and has started talking about her armpit hair. I didn't expect that she would have this at 8. It's not a full on pit of hair but there are definitely some and they are long.

Talking about why I don't have armpit hair and me explaining that I remove them, she said she would like to remove them but was scared it would hurt by shaving.

I was never guided on this by my DM, and remember at about 11 just using her razor in 'secret'

I want to have a different approach with my DD but not sure what route to go down for different hair removal methods.

We have said that we can look together and agreed that we will start before she starts swimming with school after Xmas. Although I'm wondering if it will start before as she does other activities that leave armpits on show!

What method have others taken with younger girls that want to start hair removal?

TIA

I do think 8 is particularly young to be bothered about body hair removal and why she feels she wants to get rid of them. However, I’ve had to go through this with my 9 year old as she had quite the tache, said to me about it and that she was being teased. We use the hair removal mits/pads currently and if she wants to do other parts I’d probably get the bigger version.

Thank you, yes i agree it does feel very young. She's not overly conscious of other body hair. She in particular has prominent eyebrows that join and says she does not want to remove these because she likes them!

I hadn't even considered the mits/pads and don't think they were a thing when I was younger. They definitely sound like a good option though, thank you!

If she is bothered by it why wait months to start removing? Apart from anything else, it might tak some trial and error to find the most suitable method for her. I would probably go with a removal cream as a first attempt though
