I am so glad that this thread is not about baby names 🤣
My kids are older teens now, so no idea which one to go for, sorry!

Same lol

Yoto - full size or mini, we love ours. We did have a Toniebox which was a gift but I sold it in the end as both children much preferred the Yoto, including my youngest - gave DC2 her own Yoto player for her second birthday.

i find the Yotos much easier to use, you turn the knobs to skip tracks and change the volume - I hated bashing the side of the Toniebox to skip tracks, and the figures would fall off.

DC1 absolutely loves Yoto daily (the podcast) and we do a lot of MYO cards so it's not expensive and we get a lot of use out of the Yotos.

i have a referral code if you'd like one.

We have a tonies box and love it. My son is nearly 4 and uses it everyday.

We love the little figurines and have a similar set up to the previous poster with the pic. I don't it is 'dust gathering clutter' at all.

My son sits on his windowsill looking out, listening to the stories and songs. I hear him reciting along or singing, it's so cute.

Our DD turned 2 end of June and we bought her a Yoto for her birthday. She'd been demanding to listen to the Moana soundtrack on our phones nonstop which was driving us nuts, and the Yoto has saved our sanity!

I'd say it does depend on the 2 year-old but ours is very independent and dextrous. Didn't need to be shown how to use it. She loves that it's hers and she can choose the cards and make it play the stories she wants. She often listens to it after we read to her at bedtime. It'll turn itself off after playing the card, or we can do that via the app.

We have a limited range of cards at the moment (Moana music and all the Julia Donaldson ones) so I wouldn't go crazy on those because they are such fans of repetition and familiarity at this age. It's great you can get blank cards to record what you want. They range in price, so that's also good.

It's a heavy-ish item, but DD is tiny and carts it about fine. It's also robust, and the cards can withstand a bit too. I LOVE the fact we can control the Yoto via an app, and play the cards independently of the Yoto itself via our phones. Godsend for car journeys.

My nephew had a Tonie that got passed down to his little brother. They both really liked it. The youngest is almost 4 and only uses it occasionally now - I guess the novelty has worn off. The eldest is 8 now and there's no way he'd use the Tonie but I could see how he'd make use of a Yoto. There are stories available for a number of age ranges, plus the Yoto radio.

So, definitely more longevity in the Yoto. Better value for money I'd say.
