Do I just give up trying to drop afternoon nap?

Dd has ASD. Still has a 1-1.5 hr afternoon nap. I’ve tried everything to get her to drop it she just can’t. Do I give up and just try again in spring as with the days getting darker and colder it seems so unlikely it will be possible.

She wakes up at 630 am every day. Nap is 1.30-230/3 then bedtime is 9-930 pm .

If I keep her awake she has huge meltdowns and then sleeps too late then is up at 3/4 am and awake for hours.

I feel so much pressure but actually should I just accept it and keep the nap to keep things calm ? And try again next year maybe in 6 months time

I would say if it works for you then keep doing it! It's only a problem if it's a problem.

My son is 4 and has just started school, he still naps on weekends and will sleep 6.30-6.30, so I figure it's fine.

I would let her have her nap as by the sound of it she still needs it.

It just seems that the days I’ve tried (and I’ve tried a lot!) to get her to not have a nap it throws her whole schedule off and she misses school the following day and she’s only part time anyway. She’s just exhausted though . I think I will just leave it and wait till she’s ready as it’s probably better for her
