School run guilt

DD has just started a school which is 15 mins drive away (alternative was a rural school that floods or another school that recently went into special measures before anyone asks). By the time I've driven parked, walked her in then battled the rush hour traffic back it's an hour round trip for me.
I wfh three days a week..on mon DM takes and collects her. Tues and weds I do as off but thurs and Fri are proving tricky.
I wanted her to do as little before and after school clubs as poss, so she just does the thurs and Fri until DH collects (he's a teacher so he's out the equation), but the tues and weds morning as so stressful getting her ready and getting back to my desk in time I am considering putting her in before school too. I have awful mums guilt about this and feel it's me stressing about it. DH can drop her at 8.10 then get to school on time.
I've already asked to change my hours already too but it's still difficult.

If she’s only just started school I get that she might be tired but if breakfast club exists then it’s the obvious solution to all the stress so use it!! It’s only 2 days a week, she’ll have classmates there, it’s really not a big deal.

I know..I'm overthinking this and being an ass hat aren't I?! She's never tired either!

Breakfast club is fine. She'll eat and then they just play/chill. Just like she would at home. Mum guilt is hard, but this one you're fine 😀

DT’s did breakfast and after school club every day from starting school - they loved it (big trouble if you came to collect them early and interrupted their playtime with their friends!).

I think you need to give yourself a break. Two days a week is fine. By the time she gets in, eats some toast and plays she will be through to her class. It’s funny how mum guilt is so strong and dad guilt rarely if ever comes into the equation.

It's what most of us have to do.

I don't understand why you are feeling so bad about this. Have you seen inside your school's wraparound? It's really just kids having fun together. It's fine!

Why bother changing your hours?

If it's causing you issues on your WFH days too, I would use more wraparound.

Edited

I changed my hours so I could do the school run in the morning so am then working an hour later, which now seems pointless

Yep no dad guilt here

Make sure it’s not just you flexing your working hours. We did it with DH taking them to breakfast club in the morning and I collected from after school club

Honestly, my kids love breckfast club. Its not school as such, they eat what they want and play lego, draw etc with their friends. My youngest has done it since he started school and none of them have ever been any more tired because of it than being at home eating breckfast. School starts at what...8.45? Whats half an hour when eating and chatting with friends.
Don't feel guilty at all!
