Have you ever had to use force to get your children to contact with their non resident parent?

Just that. Child is currently refusing contact. Last attempt where NRP used force to remove them prompted a member of the public to call the police as Child was utterly distressed going.
RP isn't willing to use force but has continued to encourage and promote and support. Contact is court ordered but Child is severely struggling with overnights and is causing them trauma.
Handover has been trialled in public places and contact centre with both the same effect of Child becoming incredibly distressed. Handover and parents houses not appropriate because of domestic abuse issues. School will not allow handover on their premises and have communicated this back to the Court. At a loss. Is force the only option???

No force is not an option. How old is the child? Can you go back to court? If the other parent uses force you phone the police yourself.

How old is the child? I would maybe suggest not overnight for the time being, as the child is getting very upset, and maybe supervised with someone the child feels comfortable with and go from there xx

Child is 7. Resident parent has tried to get nrp to agree to day contact or supervised as there are welfare issues. Nrp doesn't agree to anything at all except overnights.

Has the child said why they don’t want to go?

Rantingling · 22/09/2024 09:57

Yes. Nrp is being emotional abusive.

Obviously that's how I term it. The behaviour described by child has led to that description.

Is it court ordered that the child stay overnight? xx

Rantingling · 22/09/2024 10:57

Yes. Court ordered.

Why can't you go back to court?

HermioneWeasley · 22/09/2024 14:48

whats the wording of the court order? Is it just to make them available for contact or is it that you have to make them go?

worriedconfused · 22/09/2024 14:57

You’ve posted this before I think and were advised to go back to court via an emergency hearing.

did this happen?
