Before I write this I am not an anti vaxxer. I got my babies 8 week jabs done a week ago but since have read and been told horror stories which are scaring me.

My first daughter had them and is all fine.. but just looking for some more reassurance. Have your babies had their vaccinations and been fine?

My babies were vaccinated and were fine. You will find fake horror stories about anything if you look for them.

UpTheMagicFarawayTree · 20/09/2024 19:35

All fine, there's a lot of nonsense out there, but generally no actual evidence to back it up.

LuckysDadsHat · 20/09/2024 19:38

I know of no one who has had any issues from vaccinations other than a high temp and a red mark/lump at the injection site (all expected aide effects). Stop goggling and do the responsible thing for your baby and get them full vaccinated unless a full qualified Dr tells you not to for a medical reason.

They cover little ones now for these nasty things and I'm so grateful that they do. Yes we are all ok 💕

Oh stuff being shared with all the metals and crap it's supposed to contain. It's all scare mongering and it makes me angry as it sets my anxiety off so much x

Absolutely fine.

Barleysugar86 · 20/09/2024 20:18

My sister is a GP and my best friend is a genetic researcher. And they both vaccinated their kids with everything, including the Covid jab when it was first released.
Honestly I don't need to know more than that. None of my kids have had any adverse effects from the jabs. My little one gets her next round next week.

Combattingthemoaners · 20/09/2024 20:19

My baby was absolutely fine.

Lovetotravel123 · 20/09/2024 20:21

What about the horror stories about getting the illnesses that these things prevent? I know it easy to get scared when reading such things but remember the other side of it, which could mean getting very ill if not vaccinated.

imverynosey · 20/09/2024 20:21

Thank you all this makes me feel much better. I should know better as my first daughter was fine , but the post natal anxiety is getting to me x

No I 100% agree! And I think statistically it must be a lot more dangerous to not have them.

I’ve been vaccinating babies for 25 years. Not one has had more than sore legs, fevers and been cranky.

Just read the horror stories about the diseases themselves and you'll immediately feel better and that you've done the right thing.

EverybodyWantsTo · 20/09/2024 20:23

My vaccinated children were fine as were the millions of others.

bakewellbride · 20/09/2024 20:25

Also my dh is a very experienced paramedic and has never, ever - not once - been to someone suffering from a severe reaction to a vaccine. And none of his colleagues have either.

I would speak to your health visitor for support. They are only a phone call away.

Vaccines are safe to the overwhelming vast majority of people who have them. Maybe 1 in 1 million have issues but how many would die of measles etc if there were no vaccines? A lot more than 1 in 1 million. They are safe. Most criticism is from conspiracy theorists who don't understand science. And then they endanger themselves or relatives with their beliefs (I've seen it happen and other people die for it - refusing relatives medicines then telling people trump made them do it etc).
