Brands for long legged pre schooler

Minor problem I know, but I can't get trousers long enough for my almost 3 yr old DS. He's in 3-4, any bigger than that and they won't fit around the waist. Still in a pram from time to time and worried about the massive gap from hem to socks/shoes in the cold.

Any suggestions for brands that have a bit extra in length? Normally buy from M&S/Next. Tried the supermarkets yesterday but they are all even shorter. Don't mind spending a bit more £ for this.

There may not be any in which case I'll have to think of something else. Any ideas appreciated.

We've found H&M good for long, slim children, particularly as a lot of their stuff has adjustable elastic in the waist. Girls 'jeggings' as straight-cut jeans work well – both Next and H&M do ones that are normal denim material, so look just like regular jeans, but are slimmer cut. Girls cord leggings work similarly – Morrisons used to be good for those, although I've not bought in any for a couple of years, or chunky ribbed leggings.

Many children's clothes also have a waistband that's just a tube. You can unpick a few stitches at the back or side, thread a new piece of elastic round, and close it up again. Very quick to do once you've done it a few times.

Next slim fit are good. H&M have adjusters in everything but I’ve still found them quite roomy. Girls leggings/jeggings are a tighter fit and you can go for navy, black etc and he won’t have a clue they’re from the girls section. Size up dungarees and you don’t have to worry about the waist fitting, just not on nursery days as they’re not the easiest for the loo. Alternatively just embrace the traditional royal family kind of style and dress him in shorts and knee socks year round!

Thanks @skkyelark I do think the best solution might be sizing up again and taking in the waist.

Morrisons joggers work well for my long legged slim boy, and just got next slim fit joggers for his PE kit for starting school and they seem to be ok. Morrisons are better as they're easier to pull up and down, but couldn't get the right colour
