Bottle feeding EBM

Hi.
When going out for a few hours, what did you put your EBM bottles in to keep them cool if you are using from a stash from the fridge?
Did you then just ask places for warm water to rest the bottle in to warm it?
Sorry FTM here.

I know this isn't what you asked- but is there a reason you're not BF when you're out? Can we help you with that?

We pre made formula and kept in a cool bag with an ice pack. We got 4 hours but I think EBM is longer. Ours had it really cold (made our life so much easier!) so could try that.

Perhaps it’s her partner or a GP taking the baby out and she won’t be there. Or maybe she doesn’t want to BF in public (perfectly understandable).

Of course. But it may not be that- and asking could be helpful.

Yes it is exactly that. Mainly for my partner. But I would also like the option to use a bottle once in a while due to needing to put medication into her feed. It's more straight forward this way than stop starting BF to get it into her.

From day 1, I’ve used the Nuby Rapid cool. Not sure if you’ve heard of it but from day 1 my formula fed baby used it when out and about.

2 cylinders, 1 is a flask to keep hot water in and the other cools your water down.

We measure out the required amount of hot water into the baby bottle then pour nearly all the rest into the cooling cylinder. With the remaining small amount of hot water in the bottle, we add in our (premeasured) formula scoops. Once the majority of water is cooled in the cylinder (it takes about 2 mins), you pour the cool water back into baby bottle

@CM327509 That wouldn’t be for breast milk though would it.

OP if you have frozen the milk first then you can just let it defrost and then use it at room temperature. That should allow it to be in your bag for a couple of hours before it needs to be used. BM doesn’t really need warming. Given it’s a living substance over heating can kill it so to speak. It’s really difficult to not over heat it so best not to risk it.
