omega 3 supplements - who has used this and noticed a difference?

I have been giveing my 10-month old the liquid supplement in his milk. I used to give it to my now 6 year old when she was a toddler.

I remember seeing a prog (Panorama? or Child of our Time?) saying the fish oils helped concentration, and for pre-schoolers had good results.

Can anyone advocate this supplement? Your opinions welcome, thanks.

ps we eat salmon and haddock perhaps once a fortnight hence the supplement.

I, as an adult have been taking it because a friend recommended it to break down fats in the body. Also heard that it can calm a hypo child down. I dont think you should be giving such a young child supplements for any reason. PS no my tummy is still fat.

We only buy eggs from organic chickens fed on linseed as eating 2 of those eggs gives you more omega 3 than the same quantity of omega 3 milk(apparently).

Also, I recently read of an organic product (V-Pure) where the algae, from which the omega 3 is sourced, has both EPA and DHA fatty acids.
It's grown away from the sea so there are no contaminents such as mercury, as there are in fish based oils. It's not the fish that are high in Omega 3, it's the algae they eat (which I didn't know until recently - is it only me that didn't know that?)
