Terries

Anyone know how to cope with a toddler who wont co-operate with terry squares ?

My DD has just turned 3yrs and still needs a daytime nappy though hopefully for not much longer, uptil very recently she's been in disps but now that she needs less nappies I decided to try her in the terries that I use on 7mth old DS. They work well and I'm reluctant to go back to disps when I have plenty of terries but she hates them :-(

Every nappy change now involves kicking and wriggling, at first I was using nippas but found she can undo them so I'm now using pins but trying to get a nappy pin fastened on a writhing 3 yr old isnt easy :-(

Treat this as a behaviour situation rather than a nappy one. For instnce, if you wanted her to wear certain shoes and she didn't, you would have to find a way to get them on her.

Maybe she is trying to say she wants to try pants? If you did put her in pants two things will happen - either she will constantly wet them and hate it and be willing to try the terries again, or she will love being a big girl and want to use the potty.

Good luck.

Have just noticed this thread and was interested, because I had the same problem for a while. Where do you change her nappy? I have a nappy changing area, with a table about 30" high, and make it a bit of a fun game for DS to climb up on it to get the job done. With plenty of toys and other distractions, I manage to get the nappy pins fastened quickly, despite all the wriggling.

I find a min straightjacket works wonders.....

actually I change them on my lap when they e being really wriggly. I find I can limit movement a little more that way.

I used to change nappies on my lap when DC were very small, but now DS is 3, that's quite impossible. He's such a wriggler, so I need somewhere like a changing table where I can control him.
