Advice on nursery hours please!

Hello everyone

So my children have always gone to school nurseries who have always offered full time nursery hours regardless if you work or don't.

So this year I sign my youngest up to the nursery expecting her to have the full hours like my others oblivious to anything. She went to a taster session and I still asked if it was full and i was told ' we don't know yet, it depends on his your child settles'

So then on her first settling in session they said we cant have full time unless we are working full time and can get a 30 hour code. I'm not entitled as I'm a single parent and don't work ( I'm looking for work and was hoping I cam could spend her nursery time looking for work attending interviews ect)

So she's only getting 15 hours ( although it actually only adds up to 10 hours)

They only offer Mornings or afternoons, 2 hours that's it and as I don't live close to the school and have to get buses I have to wait around the school for 2 hours until she comes out then i go home then back to the school to pick my oldest up. There is no places anywhere else as they are full

The headteacher informed us last minute so parents are angry they didn't have chance to put their children elsewhere

She said as they are now become an academy they don't have to offer full time

But it's not even 15 hours it's only 10.
Would you Just take her out? I spend my whole day at that school waiting and doing drop off and pick ups. I sent a complaint email to the head but she's ignored my emails and other parents

Yes, I’d just take her out. It doesn’t sound like any advantage to you or her going 2 hours a day. Is there a local childminder who could collect from the school when you drop off who could have her all day?

I thought this was how the extended (30) free hours worked? That you have to be earning the equivalent of 16hrs per week at national minimum wage to qualify for the 30 hrs otherwise it's 15 (and some places have the option for you to pay to extend the hours).
