How to help 10mo sleep through?

Advice all starts with 'make sure they can fall asleep independently' but...

I can put her down wide awake and babbling and she'll roll over and go to sleep, so that's covered.

She naps about 3 hours a day over two naps (or one if she woke up late)

But at night, she'll sleep fine for about three hours then wake and it's up and down from there. No more self settling. She shares with her three year old sister (two bed house so no choice) so I can't let her cry, not that id want to. So she ends up in bed with us, waking me up for feeds several times in the night.

Not only am I exhausted but I've got a sore shoulder from co-sleeping!

So if she already puts herself to sleep, where do I go from here? She breastfeeds and eats solids in the day too, could she not be getting enough calories and making up for it at night?

My little one still woke up 2-3 times a night at this point and I always had to give him a bottle because he wouldn't go back to sleep otherwise. She's under 1 so still needing most nourishment from your milk. No advice really but to say make sure she's full before bed and keep going. She will get there. Mine only started sleeping through at 15 months and it wasn't anything I did, he just started doing it all of a sudden 😅

Thanks @Devilsmommy - this is what I've been telling myself, that it won't be forever and it will just happen one day.

Her sister slept 7-7 from 6 months, so I've been spoiled on that front and hoped DD2 would be the same!

Funnily enough I type this after a 6 hour sleep stretch, the longest in months so maybe she could tell I was getting desperate enough to post on mumsnet lol

This is just normal. Do you have space to move a cot into your room? Then you can settle without waking your 3 year old.

Or if you need to make more space so you can co-sleep comfortably, move your partner to a mattress on the floor or sofa so you get better sleep. It won’t be like this forever, but hate to say night waking definitely happened regularly til 3 with both of mine. Not multiple times a night, not every night, but I do think you need to think ahead about how to just make it easier for everyone.

It's normal
The tummy at gen months is still quite tiny and breast milk is perfect but also very quickly digested
You are doing an amazing job
When I look back I wish I'd told myself .... she won't be in your bed at 17 ! (Apart from Christmas morning )
Co sleeping / bit in room , do whatever allows you all to get some rest and enjoy x

I would guess it’s just a habit that’s formed when she naturally stirs overnight and then has come to expect feeds and cosleeping because it’s what you’re offering. Daytime sleep sounds about right for her age, definitely up the solids before bed if she’ll take them (I swear by weetabix and a banana for tea) but if you want to tackle it you probably need to stop offering your bed and the milk. Could big sister camp in your room for a few nights so she’s not disturbed then dad goes into her with water to resettle?
