Things to do with a 6 month old in London this afternoon?

Hello, please throw all your recommendations at me! The weather's not looking great this week. Its only 12pm but I've been up since 4 am and am running out of things to do. Ideally looking for some indoor sensory places in London. She is too young to be walking (6 months) but has mastered crawling backwards and enjoys rolling under the sofa. Don't mind travelling a bit because my girl thinks the tube is hilarious 😂 (in fact she'd probably be happy if we just rode on the tube all afternoon, getting out occasionally to use the lifts). Its me that's going a bit doolally 😅 Lots of the classes etc are in the mornings but I have 6 hours to fill in the afternoons before bath and bed time and I can only read the tiger who came to tea and be excited by her spaceship toy for so long ... 🛸🐅 Thank you!

No changing facilities at Pulse but my friend changed her baby on the floor and Borough Market has changing facilities around the corner

Why not hit the museums? Science or Natural History - free and loads of exhibition space for baby to practice crawling about, plus coffee and toilets to make your life easier.

If money is less of an issue, the transport museum in Covent Garden is great fun. Or there are loads of soft play places. This one down Chelsea way is good:

From next week - more for you than the baby but visually it should be engaging. Their permanent exhibitions are great, very accessible with a pushchair and free so a godsend when you need to kill an hour or two. Huge playground beside the museum for a go on the swings before heading home.

6 hrs? No nap or only in the pram?

My little one doesnt really nap much in the afternoon and most of the baby groups etc are in the mornings. I'm always at a loose end come 1pm (our day starts early, usually at about 5am). We've been playing in the park all summer but now the weather is turning am looking for more indoor stuff to do. A big yes to museums but even better if there is a space for her to get out and wriggle around a bit :)

I had a similar child. When I went back to work, she was napping for 2 hours straight in the middle of the day within 2 weeks and her overnight sleeping improved too. I spent my mat leave schlepping everywhere in all weathers too.

Weaning did mean more time at home though as all that puree'd food took time to impart and then clean up after ! There have been quite a few useful threads on here about how to engage a baby at home lengthy joint bath times [blowing bubbles mostly] and weaning activities like small chopped veg and peas to build motor control.

Anyhow, which parts/zones of London work best for you and you should get more useful recommendations? Mudchute Farm is very popular with small ones and free!

Plus there's the DLR to get there. There's often an outdoor lighting extravaganza at Canary Wharf coming up to Christmas too though ideally you would not be trying to get on a tube at peak rush hour from there with a pram.
