Nappy Stain Removal - any suggestions?????

I've just started using reusables with DS, 4 weeks old and breastfed. I'm using a dry bucket with an old pillowcase to act as a nappy net. This generally seems to be working really well, bucket doesn't smell and transfer to washing machine is easy peasy with pillow case.

I've just hung nappies over clothes horse and seen that quite a few of the nappies are stained. I do a 60 wash using just one Persil tablet.

With my two DD, I used to soak them in a bucket with Napisan - although the bucket was wiffy and nasty to transfer nappies to machine, they were always sparkly after a wash.

I know the stained nappies are clean, I really would rather avoid soaking them, and don't want to be heavy handed with chemicals. Do you tend to just ignore the stains? Or do you add something else to the wash? I know the sun acts as a natural stain remover, but some of the stains are quite nasty - I'd be ashamed to air my dirty washing in public!!

DS is a little bit older (11 weeks) and we have lovely yellow stains on our nappies, sun light does work a treat and I know from using cloth on DD that the stains do fade with time and more washing. Sorry, nothing more helpful to add!

Sunlight is fab. You can put them in a window to get them out if you can't put them outside. It takes a bit longer there though!
