How old is your son?

Aged around 3 is when they tend to become super picky and narrow their food choices down. It's a known developmental stage.

Older than that- sometimes it can be a sensory issue. Mine is 14 years and has severe sensory issues around food so his diet is quite restricted. We finally got a referral to a paediatric dietician and are working with her to gradually expand his repertoire.

Hi yes he is 2.5 years old and has had issues with gag reflex as a baby and has been on pure jar food up until he was about 1 year and a few months as he couldn't manage it but
Just going with the flow but slightly frustrating at lunch when having to cook a full on hot meal for him and different dinner to us!
Will keep an eye on him but some food to try out would be helpful

One thing that might work is to target a new food every few weeks. Just pop the same food on his plate at his meal. For me, the first thing I tried was sliced cucumber... it was on Ds's plate for a good 2 weeks before he actually tried it. Seeing it there every day (and ignoring it) took away any fear of something new he may have had. Then I added in cut cherry tomatos. 2 weeks (along with the cucumber) and he ten tried it. Then sweetcorn etc. It's a long long process, but seemed to help us. By the time he was 5 he would eat raw carrot, cucumber, yellow peppers, sugar snap peas etc. Even now he refuses cooked vegetables unless it is a pasta sauce (which I hide vegetables in and blend until smooth).

Also you may want to look into toddler vitamins just so you can feel reassured the bases are being covered.

Thanks

Chicken nuggets, chips and mushy peas is a proper meal, as is pasta pesto.
I eat both often.
