So, how many wipes do you use to clean a pooey bottom? I think I am incompetent!

I can quite happily use 4 or 5, but then I realised how expensive they are, blimey! And my mum and my SIL can use 1 and clean it perfectly so I think I am A Bit Crap At This.

(I use cotton wool mainly, but I find it just moves the poo around, sorry if TMI!)

probably about 10 on my 18mo DS. Mind you he thrashes about like a mad octopus so I need to be fully armed .

Get wipes out of packet first too so I don't have to fiddle about with them while he is trying to escape.

He has been known to get poo on his hands them suck his thumb. [vomit emoticon]

Lots.

But I seem to be more particular than either my mum or dp, as when I change a nappy after them their are branny bits left .

Also do that pull a wipe, three come out, shake them violently, give up and use all three because the other hand is pinning down grumpy child thing.

I use the nappy to get most of it off, and then used one or two max. I also had wipe in hand before opening nappy. I placed open clean nappy under dirty nappy, got most poo off with old nappy, then wiped and put wipe into old nappy, rolled it up and whipped it away. and then fastened new nappy on. then fastened rolled up nappy, and put in bin. no nasty niffs!

I take it your little fellow is a newbie? Newbie poo is extraordinary!!

You'll be amazed at how quickly you'll be able to change him.

I always bought sensitive pampers wipes on a buy one get one free specials. the pampers are thicker and wetter (with aloe and chamomile) and do the job better than others 'we' tried.
I like the suggestions for a more environmentally sensitive wipe solutions posted here!

I use nappy to remove most of it, then a couple of wipes at most, unless it's a particulary crappy poo! I found toilet roll is too dry to do any good on a bottom covered in poo...I use Wilkinsons wipes that are usually two for one in price. Often have a guilty conscience about disposible nappies and wipes too...
