Leaky nights for 3 month DD

Hi all - can anyone suggest a night nappy for my 12lb12ox 3 month DD. I have tried all the usual brands of disposables, I've tried adding a booster pad, but every morning she is wet through (nighty, sleeping bag and through to the sheet). She is formula fed 3 hourly and has lots of wet nappies during the day (have started experimenting with washables and terries), but I cannot find a nappy that doesn't leak through the night. It's always at the back and try as I might to fasten them really tighty, they still leak!

She sleeps through from 6 - 6 with a dream feed at 11.30pm. I have been changing her at this feed but I'm sure the rest of the world doesn't have to do this and I don't want to either!

bangs desk in frustration!

What size are you using? Sometimes it is worth using the next size up for night time - you want a baby dry version as they are most absorbent eg pampers baby dry

Would also suggest next size up.

And with a 3 month old I would still expect to be changing at this feed tbh. Although DS was forumula fed he would still have been on more feeds than this during the night and got changed at each one. Can't remember when I stopped that though.

Thanks - I have tried baby dry and next size up in most brands. Thought about cloth nappies with booster but perhaps this would be even worse? (one way to find out)

I just feel so sorry for a warm snoozy baby (my favourite type!) being changed in the night, but better than the alternative I suppose!

Hi lazyhen our DS has more or less the same sleep/feeding times, 'nappy off' time is usually after his 10pm feed and the clean nappy will last till the morning, we use cloth naps, either terry squares or fitteds. If DP does the change and uses a disposable, we use size three Sainsburys own and they mostly hold the wee (but not the poo).

Actually I think Sainsburys and Lidls are the only bramds I haven't tried...

I had this problem with both my DDs.

Never found a solution with DD1 who was disposable reared (excuse the pun ) until she stopped her night feeds.

DD2 was in cloth from 4 months and as soon as we started using Motherease Airflow wraps we stopped getting leaks - she was waking every 30 minutes at the time so we put them to the test a fair bit.

You could just try putting one over a disposable if you don't fancy going fully cloth - they have a good resale value if it doesn't work out.

Ooh that's a good idea. I have a motherease wrap and will try it over a disposable. (I'll do it tomorrow as she's in bed now).

I almost feel I could drop the dream feed as she's had all her 30oz of feed during the day today but I think the nappy will wake her up....

.... Although maybe she won't be as wet if she doesn't have that last feed. Is 3 months much too early to expect her to go all night withought a feed...?

My DD1 was going all night without a feed by that age - she was fine, continued to put on weight as before. How I wish DD2 had been the same - have ordered similar to DD1 for this time round

Funnily enough neither of my two ever seemed to be woken up by their wetness - even though they were soaked through, sleepsuit, bedclothes, mattress! I couldn't ignore the wetness though but on the odd night when I was just too shattered to change them they seemed to not mind!

You could also try putting a fleece liner inside a disposable ( I do this if I use one for night with DD2) it will keep her skin dry so even though everything else will be soaking wet and make her less likely to wake up due to the wetness.
