Anyone know when kids stop bringing everything home? She’s been in nursery since 9 months and although her nose is no longer snotty all the time (it was for at least 8 months) (she’s now 2yr 2 months) we’ve had norovirus twice in 5 months, now another cold, we’ve had covid twice, numerous boughts of tonsilitis and she had Scarlett fever, all since she started nursery.
All of which we catch off her, you’d think our immune system would be able to deal, but apparently not (my other half does seem t catch less stuff). The doctor at OOH once said that it would taper off after two, maybe it’s wishful thinking but why are we catching everything too?

After the 3rd winter in nursery. That said, my 2 very rarely get ill enough to miss school now. Whereas friends who didn’t use any childcare have had illness after illness and hospitalisations, etc. It seems grim at the time, but actually grateful now we just got it out of the way. Taking high dose vitamin C, zinc and echinacea actually helped a lot. It meant I stopped getting it too.

In the same boat here. My DD never went to nursery but since she started school it'd been awful. I've had 5 things from her since the end of May including COVID. Was rarely ill before.

I'm dreading this autumn/winter when she goes full time. She's 4.5.

No real suggestions just solidarity. I was beginning to wonder if we all just had awful immune systems. My husband has been ill more in the last 6 months than the 10/11 years I've known him.

Praying it means we’ve had our time when she starts school. It’s so bad I’m nearly almost convinced I don’t want a second child.
